Tom Mulligan

Tom has over 30 years experience as a Chartered Accountant. Tom qualified with a medium sized firm of Chartered Accountants where he dealt with mostly SMEs, sole traders and partnerships. He joined PriceWaterhouseCoopers after qualifying and gained experience working with larger family businesses and major national companies.
Tom has held senior positions in major retail and manufacturing businesses and has considerable experience in acquisitions and disposals of businesses. Tom has been in practice since 1990 and was a founder of SAA Services which merged to form Shire Chartered Accountants. Tom believes his considerable experience in all aspects of business enables him to make a positive contribution to a wide range of business clients.


Jim Williams

Jim started his accountancy career in 1966 as a trainee in a large Leicester practice. He worked there until 1985 when he left to start his own practice as a general practitioner dealing with a wide range of clients; from individual tax clients to larger audits.
Jim has many years experience acting for owner managed businesses including dealing with all forms of compliance work, tax investigations, acquisitions and disposals.
Outside of work Jim’s interests include playing golf – member of Lingdale G.C – and watching other sports.
Jim is an active member of the Leicester Hackers Golf Association and the Irish Golf Society.


Luke Mulligan
Luke joined Shire in April 2005 as a general practice partner although he has particular expertise in corporate finance transactions, which occupy approximately half of his working week.Luke joined a regional firm from university in 1997 and qualified as a chartered accountant in 2000.  He joined the corporate finance division of Grant Thornton (an international firm) where he worked on over 50 transactions ranging from due diligence to funding raising, to acquisitions and management buy-outs and buy-ins, to business disposals. 
Interests include golf (member of Rothley Park and the Irish Golf Society), snowboarding and languages.
